Nepal

I wanted to share some photos from my recent trip to Kathmandu, Nepal.  They are such a warm, welcoming people despite the very difficult conditions in which they live.  I was able to visit 6 different mills and was struck not only by the incredible skill of the weavers, but also by the teamwork involved in working on a large rug or complicated design.  I enjoyed getting to visit with the artisans and really see the process that is used to make our rugs from start to finish.

Sorting and cleaning raw wool.

Hemp, Nettle and Cactus in yarn form.

Selecting the different shades of yarn that will go into our new ombre rug

Amazing work on a complicated design.
