My First Rug!

I don¹t think I ever got to Spring Cleaning this year, but I am doing some Winter cleaning this week in preparation for a fresh and optimistic 2013.  I came across this photo, which shows the very first rug I ever made.  I was living in San Francisco and just dabbling in rug making while working full time in advertising , my eldest son Ziggy was just 6 weeks old, when my friend (now great friend!) Charles de Lisle asked me to make a rug for a bathroom he was doing for a showcase house.  "You have a week".  And so was born the "Stepping Stones" design (out of constraint, as much art is, because I only had small amounts of wool in certain colors!). 

Last Minute Holiday Gift Panic
