ICFF

I managed a quick tour of ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) on Sunday.  I love going to be inspired and catch up with friends I always bump into.  Having done the show myself several times, I always take secret pleasure in being an observer rather than a participant.

I was struck by how much interesting wood and tile of all kinds was in the show, including wood that looked like tile and tile that looked like wood. (Apologies for terrible photos)

Two of my favorite things were James De Wulf's Ping Pong Dining Table, which I have lusted over for years, and the Sofa/Wall Bed by Resource Furniture.  Maybe that has a special appeal since I now have a teenage son and the idea of not nagging him every day to make his bed and instead have it disappear is very appealing!

We Love ALT for Living, We Love Robert Couturier, We Love Elle Decor!

I was lucky enough to get to work on a fabulous Manhattan project for Robert Couturier through my New York showroom, ALT for Living.  Analisse and I were thrilled to see the spread featuring this amazing home in the June issue of Elle Decor, which shows my alpaca Stonehenge, Rivulet, and Checkerboard rugs.  I love Robert's work and am so happy to be part of such impeccable, elegant, contemporary design.  Thanks to everyone involved!

Mini Rugs

We have been featuring a different set of Mini Rugs on our SHOP each month.  These are 2' x 3' versions of our designs that are perfect for any room.  Think of them as art when placed next to a bed, as a bathroom rug, or as welcoming doormats. Below is a picture of the Lake Mini Rug in a high traffic mudroom.  This rug has sustained 2 years of (ab)use with 3 young children dragging in dirt, water, and sand from the beach - and it shows no signs of aging.  Because our rugs are hand-made from the highest quality fibers, you can get an extremely durable and stylish doormat all in one.
