Felted Pillows in Houzz NY Times Article

On my way to the airport last week, I read The New York Times article on Houzz founders Alon Cohen and Adi Tatarko.  For those that don't know, Houzz is a website (and an iPad app) that pulls together an astounding number of images and products for anyone interested in design.  And I was thrilled to see two of my mother's Felted Pillows taking pride of place on the sofa in their fabulously redone California home.

After years of making jewelery and rugs (the apple does not fall far from the tree), my mum took up felt making two years ago at the ripe old age of 88.  And she is making the most beautiful designs!

Nepal

I wanted to share some photos from my recent trip to Kathmandu, Nepal.  They are such a warm, welcoming people despite the very difficult conditions in which they live.  I was able to visit 6 different mills and was struck not only by the incredible skill of the weavers, but also by the teamwork involved in working on a large rug or complicated design.  I enjoyed getting to visit with the artisans and really see the process that is used to make our rugs from start to finish.
